I have had pedalboards on and off over the last fifteen years, and during the COVID lockdown, I dismantled and sold my board at the time, and sold my Helix LT. I was using the Logic to add my effects to my woodwinds, and the gear was sitting unused.
I had been without a pedalboard since 2021, and the thought of building another one was crossing my mind regularly. I was loaned a demo board by Trevor May, of Mayfly Audio, to check out the VoxBox (which I loved and will post about in the future), and I was hooked again.

My current setup is –
- VoxBox (microphone effects loop) by Mayfly
- Un Petit Canard (envelope filter) by Mayfly
- Whammy V (pitch shift) by Digitech
- Lofi Machine (low bit sound effects) by Mooer
- My Evil Twin (delay with modulation) by Mayfly
- JellyFish (dual reverb) by Mayfly
Yes, I have a ton of Mayfly pedals on my board. I love the way they respond to the horn, and how I can dial in the sound that I like. I also love that they are made in Canada!
Over the next little while, I’ll post some clips of the individual pedals, and write about why I’m using this specific gear.
I have a few slots left in my OneSpot, and I would love to add a distortion, and a loop pedal.
I really love the possibilities that the effects open my ears up to, and there are some new projects in the works! Stay tuned!
